What Mentioned is
Mentioned is an information service. Its current mention lane counts source records with an exact configured entity-name or GKG-theme match for curated stock and crypto targets in GDELT Project GKG data and reports only aggregate counts, timing buckets, source attribution, and freshness. It does not retain or display article content, URLs, domains, titles, or publisher identities from that lane. It does not read your brokerage account, know your financial condition, or decide what you should buy, sell, hold, short, hedge, stake, lend, borrow, or avoid.
A GDELT “mention” means that one valid source record contained an exact configured entity-name or GKG-theme match for a target. It is not a count of people, opinions, unique events, or words, and it is not a report about what a security, token, company, fund, or market will do next.
Not financial advice
Nothing on the site, in the app, in an email, in an alert, in a summary, or in any related product surface is investment advice, financial advice, trading advice, tax advice, legal advice, accounting advice, or a recommendation. Mentioned does not recommend transactions. Mentioned does not issue price targets. Mentioned does not rate securities or crypto assets. Mentioned does not tell you that any asset is suitable for you.
Do not use Mentioned as the sole basis for an investment or trading decision. If you trade or invest, you are responsible for your own research, risk controls, orders, tax consequences, and losses.
Not an adviser or broker
Mentioned and Stromatic Labs are not registered as investment advisers, broker-dealers, commodity trading advisers, commodity pool operators, financial planners, research analysts, exchanges, transfer agents, banks, custodians, or insurance producers. No advisory, fiduciary, brokerage, customer, or professional relationship is created by using the site, opening the app, joining the updates list, paying for a tier, or reading an alert.
Labels on a website do not decide regulatory status. If the product changes, this analysis may change. We review material product changes before they ship.
Source coverage can be wrong or misleading
GDELT source records can reflect reporting that is false, stale, duplicated, syndicated, incomplete, promotional, or mistaken. The upstream entity classification can omit a reference or classify one incorrectly. Several source records can concern the same underlying event. A high matched-record count does not mean quality, importance, approval, investor conviction, or safety; a low count does not mean the opposite.
Other public sources, if separately enabled, can contain false, sarcastic, promotional, manipulated, paid, coordinated, or incomplete material. U.S. regulators regularly warn investors about investment scams and stock tips distributed through social media and group chats. See investor resources from Investor.gov on social media stock scams, FINRA on investment group imposter scams, and the SEC on social media and investment fraud.
Crypto and token risk
Crypto assets, tokens, and related products can be extremely volatile, illiquid, speculative, operationally fragile, and vulnerable to fraud. Some crypto asset markets may lack protections that apply in regulated securities markets. You can lose the full amount you put at risk.
For background, see FINRA's crypto asset risk overview and SEC investor alerts on crypto asset scams.
No guarantee of accuracy
Mentioned can be delayed, wrong, incomplete, duplicated, unavailable, or misclassified. Exact entity-or-theme matching can produce false positives or false negatives. Publication, collection, and validation can be delayed, and source access can break without notice. A “complete” current GDELT window means that all 192 expected source intervals for the configured 57-target mapping were processed; it does not mean complete coverage of the web, public discussion, news, markets, or every stock or crypto asset.
The current GDELT aggregate lane does not infer sentiment, explain causation, expose raw keywords, or identify unique stories. It may show a limited set of recurring, service-allowlisted aggregate topic labels. Those labels—and compatible summary, filtering, or model features from any source lane—can still omit facts, miss context, or overstate a pattern.
Mentioned does not guarantee uptime, accuracy, completeness, timeliness, market relevance, regulatory completeness, profitability, or fitness for any purpose.
No endorsement of third-party content
Mentioned may report that a configured ticker, company, or crypto target matched a source record. That does not mean Mentioned endorses or verifies the entity, the source record, the underlying event, or any related product, person, link, or topic. Third-party links and platform names provided elsewhere are for context only; the current GDELT aggregate lane does not retain or display the matched articles or publisher identities.
Alerts and source availability
For supported tracked stocks, Mentioned can evaluate an alert by comparing the latest six-hour measured count with the prior 42-hour baseline when the source window, alert authority, and chosen delivery destination are current and available. Crypto mention alerts are not currently available. A saved watchlist, threshold, push token, email preference, or webhook does not make alerts available for an unsupported or unavailable lane. Any alert can be delayed, missed, duplicated, or wrong and remains a prompt for independent research—not a trade signal.
Demo data and marketing examples
Some website panels are illustrative interface examples. When aggregate snapshots or stored data windows are available, examples may use them; examples may also use simplified charts or static reference values to show product shape. Panels are not current source results unless they are explicitly labeled with a source and snapshot time. Mention counts are not market-price or trading-volume data. Product-update counts are separate from source mention counts.
